Michelle comes from a long line of crafty ladies on both sides of her genetic tree, and in 2006 she decided to teach herself how to knit. After a few years and a few projects she discovered Ravelry (Username: KnittyWittyShelle) and became a Capital K - Knitter, knitting daily and learning as many new skills as possible! Since settling in Kelowna, BC with her partner about 5 years ago she has enjoyed getting to know local knitters at knit nights, and in the last year has begun teaching classes at Kelowna Yarn & Needlecrafts. Her love of all things fibre has led her down the spinning rabbit hole, with a foundation in drop spindling that has since expanded to spinning wheels.

Nikki has been working with the fibre arts for about 10 years now and loves every aspect of it. From the raw fibre to the dying process to the finished product, she loves it all. Creating such beauty and color is what makes what she does so fun. Sometimes you don’t even know what the final product is going to look like. Sometimes she even does a little happy dance when she's experimenting and the results are magnificent. Each felted piece is a one of a kind and hand made by me the artist. She is constantly thinking of new scarves or sculptures or other ideas to create with wool fibre, mohair and wool locks. Nikki loves finding new things to incorporate into her felted pieces. In her spare time between felting, dying and hanging out with her wonderful, supportive husband and daughter, Nikki teaches classes throughout the Okanagan and has a yarn dyeing business. She loves teaching and seeing the students so excited after they have completed their project. The look in their eyes is what makes it all worth while.
